MAIN TASK:

· Design and collaborate on designs of new database platforms.

· Write and review code associated with database queries and automation.

· Optimize query and database performance.

· Install, configure, patch, upgrade, backup, and monitor databases and database servers.

· Respond to problems and changes with the highest degree of complexity and risk.

· Create and enable appropriate documentation of systems, processes, recovery, and troubleshooting.

· Learn new features and new platforms continuously, to enable and lead change.

· Automate install, configure, scale-up/down, backup/recovery, disaster recovery, and monitoring.

· Develop processes and automation to manage the databases.

· Provide off-hour assistance and support during critical outage situations.

FROM YOU WE EXPECT:

· Requires a minimum of an associate degree in a technology-related field with at least 5 years of professional experience providing database administration.

· Strong database administration experience in Postgres, with minimum of 5 years experience.

· Experience working on cross-functional teams, multitasking, and managing time independently with little direction.

· Strong leadership in collaboration, customer service, communication, documentation, and team enablement.

· Strong diagnostic and problem-solving skills with particular focus on automation.

· Experience with NOSQL databases like Cassandra or MongoDB is a plus.

· Experience in CI/CD automation a plus.

· Experience with managing database systems in the Cloud is a plus.

· Provide off-hour assistance and support during critical outage situations.
